Kara Outreach is a supportive program for pregnant and parenting moms
and dads up to age 24. A social worker is available to provide assistance
and to advocate on your behalf.
Social Worker Support
The Kara Social Worker provides information and assistance with:
- finances and budgeting
- housing
- child care
- maintenance (child support)
- parenting issues
- referrals to community resources
- understanding how to obtain legal advice
- continuous, year-round support
The Kara Social Worker can help by:
- locating appropriate community resources
- obtaining necessary referrals
- tracking down required information
- providing support through community visits
Educational Bursaries
The Kara Community Advisory Association (KCAA) provides Educational Bursaries
to deserving Kara clients who wish to pursue further education. Please
contact the Kara Social Worker for more information.
Community/Peer Support
The Kara Outreach program provides an environment of community and peer
support. It does this by offering:
- assistance with finding and accessing individual and family counselling
programs
- short term individual support sessions
- group support activities
